Sunset Canyon

Beautiful location. Peaceful. Clean. Check in quick. Fist night could not figure out how to heat up the hot tub. Called maintenance next morning and after we got back to the cabin water was hot. Comfortable beds. Salt and paper provided. Make sure to bring everything else. Smart tv with Netflix and other apps but no games or books . Make sure you bring your own. Great stay no complaints. Above just suggestions for the future guests. Views are unbeatable.

We really enjoyed the stay at Roberts place. Very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful sunsets! Roberts's place is better than the pictures. My husband and I did not read the description before coming and we did not realize that there is no hairdryer or coffee/ tea. I would also recommend taking an extra towel and extra shampoo/ body wash/ soap with you on the trip, especially if you are planning to stay longer than a couple of days.

The location is beautiful. Hot tub was filled shortly before our arrival so did not warm up sufficiently to use until the next day. Overall, experience was very good.

If your looking for an awesome cabin with amazing views then this is it! Sunset views and relaxation in the hot tub to name a few. Close to many things but far away to feel secluded. Very great value! We will get back!

We loved sitting out on the back porch in the evenings and watching the sunset. Clean home, comfy beds, and plenty of pots and pans for cooking dinner.

Absolutely beautiful cabin with amazing views. Literally the views from the very private porch are as good as the views on some of the better hikes we did. Great location. We will definitely stay again.

This was a great stay! It's very clear that 5 Star cares about their guests and their properties. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The air conditioning worked great, even on the super hot days. The sheets were soft and smooth, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated quick attention when we had an issue with the clothes washer. It also was above and beyond when the rental office called us with an update and information about a power outage the area experienced.

A few other reviewers mentioned the rough road leading to the cabin. For what it's worth, we found it to be just a regular gravel road and not a challenge at all. But, we drive a Subaru and are used to driving on forest service roads that are much steeper and bumpier.

The only small things I'd note - the TV is small for the space and you're not able to stream shows/movies due to their limited bandwidth. But, the area has so much outdoorsy stuff to do, you probably won't miss watching TV and streaming shows.

We'd definitely rent this property again and we will definitely recommend it to others.

Stunning location perched on top of a mountain. There was a group of similar style luxury cabins nearby, but it still felt private. Robert’s place was spacious, clean, and comfy. A few extra towels would have been nice, (one for the shower and one for the hot tub) but with the washer and dryer it would have been easy to launder the towels. The road to the cabin was exciting, both our vehicles (Subaru Crosstrek and Ford C-Max) were able to make the climb. Overall we enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Red River Gorge!

Make sure you download driving directions and phone numbers to your phone before you hit the area, as cell phone service and Internet connections are sketchy, depending on your carrier.

This cabin has a beautiful view! If you’re looking for a secluded cabin, this is for you. The gravel drive to the cabin was very steep, so a 4wd vehicle would probably be best. The beds were comfortable and the WiFi worked great

Awesome private forest location, lovely hot tub, reliable wifi, comfortable beds and close to a variety of diverse and enjoyable hikes. We had a few maintenance issues during our four night stay but the communication with maintenance staff was prompt and accommodating.

Beautiful cabin in the fantastic Red River Gorge area. Amazing views from the from the porch and loft bedroom. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

This cabin was such a jewel! The view was unbeatable and we so enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub as well as the cabin. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Great place

This is part of a rental cabins group in town called 5 star rentals..
The view was amazing for sure and the hot tub really nice..
Couple small things I would suggest: bring your own coffee, more towels and charcoal for the grill..
Also the TV in living room was pretty small for the room size.
Other than that it was a fun stay and although it rained our entire trip we enjoyed going off-roading on the DBBB and playing games / listening to it rain on the cabin roof! Thanks!

The cabin was perfect for our family of four to spend a relaxing couple of days away from it all! We loved the location near the Natural Bridge (great hike leading to amazing views), the view from the deck, and watching the sunset while in the hot tub.
We would definitely come back again.

Beautiful location and beautiful home! The beds were super comfy too and the water and hot tub were HOT which was perfect after a chilly December hike.

This cabin was PERFECT! The view was stunning, the cabin was beautiful, and we didn't want to leave. Sitting on the deck gave us almost the same view we had while hiking to Natural Bridge. We have nothing negative to say about this place!

Sunset Canyon was amazing! The cabin is a perfect get away overlooking the Red River Gorge. Very close to the Natural Bridge Park which has some great views and hikes as well. Enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub!

Beautiful view, very clean, better than it even looked. We were beyond impressed and can’t wait to come back again.

Beautiful amazing cabin!

This cabin has spectacular views. We were impressed upon arrival as the pictures don’t quite do it justice. Place was larger than we expected based on pictures. It functioned just as we needed it to. Excellent WiFi and the hot tub was up and running nicely. Place could use simple updates to make it more comfortable (lighting in the shower, bigger TV) but those are very minimal things. There were quite a bit of spiderwebs throughout in corners and such but never saw a single spider - which you’re in the middle of the forest so you’re going to have some insects here and there. The drive in from the main road was pretty bumpy and a tight drive as it’s all gravel and one way but our SUV handled without problem. Beds were comfy and showers had good temperature and water pressure. Would suggest this cabin and stay here again in the future.

A beautiful setting and a sweet cabin. We enjoyed our stay here as a relaxing home base for hiking and exploring.

This was a great place to stay overall! Great views, near everything, and very private. The only downside to our stay was that we paid a premium to rent a place with a hot tub, but it didn’t work. It was cold (68F), and wouldn’t warm up, nor would the jets work. At check in, you sign paperwork stating that the hot tub isn’t guaranteed to work.

Spectacular view, absolutely the most beautiful cabin I have ever seen. A must for travellers to the Red River Gorge.

We loved this place! Only draw back was the showers. Both are two very small upright showers that have poor lighting. The key system is a bit scary with the likelihood of locking yourself out. You have to be really on top of your game to avoid that happening (we recommend going easy on the booze to avoid this

We had a great stay! The view from the cabin was lovely and it was very secluded even though there were other cabins nearby. The hot tub was nice especially after hiking all day.

Great location. Private well-spaced trio of cabins in the woods overlooking a beautiful gorge. You check in at 5 star cabin rental a few miles away, and we were only allowed 2 keys. No firepit, so don’t buy firewood! Cabin needs some love and a deep clean but wasn’t too bad. Stairs to upstairs bedroom must be used with care. Hot tub was clean and the view from the porch is unbelievable.

This place was superb. Robert was very quick to respond to any way editions, check in and out were seamless, and the place was sparkling clean. The view overlooking the mountains was also a major plus, not to mention the Hottub. I would highly recommend staying at Sunset Canyon!

My husband and I just spent a long weekend here for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. We only cooked dinner one night during our stay and had all the pots and pans that we needed. We loved the view from the deck and even watched the sun set from the hot tub one evening, even though it was in the 20s. The gravel road to the cabin was bumpy, but we had no trouble. We hope to visit again!

Wonderful cabin with beautiful views! Even though there were several other cabins sharing the driveway, the space felt very private. We were unable to see any other cabins from our windows or deck. The view off the deck was spectacular and worth staying here alone. The hot tub was amazing after a long day of hiking, and was very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The cabin was close to all hiking, with most trails in the gorge being about 20-25 minutes away. We will stay here again!

Sunset Caynon was a great pick for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate a birthday. It is tucked away with a beautiful view of the gorge from the deck and master bedroom . The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook meals. The facilities are clean and welcoming. Check-in is a breeze. We tried Miguel's pizza after an afternoon of hiking and it was great!

Sunset Canyon is a great place to stay when visiting Red River Gorge. The office where you check-in/out is right off the highway, and that exit is one of the main ways to get into the park, so the general location is great. The location of the cabin itself is very secluded and peaceful; you really feel like you are in the middle of nowhere! It's a small one-lane gravel road to get there, along with a couple other cabins. You are right on the gorge with an AMAZING view. The hot tub is a wonderful touch, great for relaxing after a day of hiking, even in the summer. The cabin is in great condition and clean. The master bedroom and bathroom are up a small spiral staircase, which could be difficult for children to safely navigate. The second bedroom does have one of the outside doors, so we did not feel safe having our baby sleep in that room, so he got the master!! In my opinion, the cabin in not quite kid-friendly, because they either will be sleeping in a room with a door that they could get outside, or one they have to climb up a precarious staircase. However, I do not view this as a negative at all, since they do not advertise the cabin as "kid-friendly" and some people may have no problem with the arrangement for their children. I kept thinking what a great cabin choice for 2 couples, or a group of 3-4 friends. The kitchen had plenty of of essentials and we were able to cook dinner both nights. As far as hiking, you are about 15-30 minute drives from most of the major hiking trails, and on the way to the cabin you pass Miguel's and a bunch of little shops. We would stay here again, especially on a kid-free getaway!

This is a wonderful cabin. It was very clean and tastefully decorated with everything we needed. It's location within the Gorge area is central so the drives to various walks were short. The siting of the cabin was well thought out. It is nestled in the woods with no clear-cutting. But most impressive of all is the spectacular view of the valley and cliff wall outcroppings. Rob and the staff were very attentive and quick to respond. We will certainly be back.

Amazing location! Beautiful views, solitude, and convenient for hiking opportunities. Would love to visit again in the fall.

We really liked the cabin, it is in the middle of the forest, very nice view. The interior of the cabin is pretty nice, good equipment for cooking, very comfortable sofa and bed. After a day of hiking or rock climbing we appreciated the hot tub. I definitely recommend it.

Amazing view!

Breathtaking views of the mountains. Sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine looking up at the stars was a great way to end a day of hiking. Great location to all of the trails and the Natural Bridge. Loved all of the bear decor and the wooden staircase.
